  • Uses

Methadone is prescribed to treat opiate addiction, mainly for heroin.

  • Dangers

Slow and/or shallow breathing, convulsions, coma, possible death.

  • What to look for

White crystalline powder, tablets, liquid (injectable), euphoria, drowsiness, respiratory depression, constricted pupils, nausea.

  • Detection Limits

Methadone and its metabolite can be detected in urine for up to 1 to 3 days after use.
